Feels really well put together and classy. Delicious now although will surely improve in bottle. Note written on day 2 once it had opened up. |

4/23/2024 - z_willus_d wrote: 93 pointsI was short of time while consuming this to give it the attention and proper tasting note it deserves. I'll note that it really showed distinct and as a specific reflection of its site and terroir. It showed with mineral and red fruits (cherries, sour and sweet). The savory components were dominating on the back half. I can't forget the saline finish that just wouldn't let go. The balance and intensity of that component in the last sips of my final glass were unforgettable and excited me greatly to someday learn the path this Radiolaria bottling takes over its just awakened, sure to be lengthy life. |

4/3/2024 - mlemaire Likes this wine: 93 pointsBeautiful strawberry fruit with forest notes in the nose, good density and balance across the palate. Acidity is kind of tangy and so less tucked in than I might prefer. Still, this is good stuff |

3/24/2024 - z_willus_d wrote: 93 pointsBottle shock be balderdash. I picked this wine up at the source earlier today, and the bottle couldn't wait. Aromatically imposing would be an understatement; the wine exudes a complex and multitudinous array of scents, spices, and musky, woodsy, peppery aromas. Delicate, deep, encaptivating. The more austere palate shows promise, as much as it has balance and a shock of medium grained-tannins running through its back half. There's a special expression of place in this Syrah, and I feel the site has reached some kind of maturity and epic stature at this point. These will indeed continue to show greatness for a long time to come. Of so much, I'm certain. |

Very elegant and not too new world without too much of oaky notes as far as I remember. Beautiful now but definitely can evolve for next 5 years at least. 85~93+. |

2/19/2024 - loj Likes this wine: 93 pointsElegance. On the nose, forest floor, pine, dark red fruit, peppercorn. The palette is fresh, lively, with a zippy acid finish. This vineyard sits high up in Mendocino, among pine trees, and I taste the pine distinctly on the finish. A lovely long and concentrated finish. |

2/4/2024 - z_willus_d wrote: 93 pointsThis bottle was outstanding in every way. I've been trying to cut my weekly drinking back over the past year, and this wine put a good dent in my efforts. It's just so well made, easy to drink while also presenting such great complexity through its array of delightful characteristics. It has that cool climate crunch. Lovely acidity. Ethereal meets forest floor, etc. I thought this would be my favorite Fog Easter, but then I just noticed the '19 was also stellar when I tried it a while back. I really like the vineyard focus of this blend these past two vintages (or rather '19/'20), and I certainly look forward to the remaining bottles as well as '21 and '22 on the horizon. While it's not helping with personal Alc imbibement goals, exceptions for greatness needs oft be made. |

A noticeably tart entry but with aromatics of deep dark fruit, spice and damp mushroom earth (i.e. forest floor). This continues to develop nicely; improving through the whole of the bottle. Super complex but very hedonistic. |

1/16/2024 - air guitar & pinot noir Likes this wine: 93 pointsUgh. I had wanted to save this one for at least a couple years since I had enjoyed one of these recently. I had a work trip and my wife popped this one. The qualities I was so stoked about are still here on day 2 as I returned home to find the open bottle. Dark fruit with an instantaneous drying sensation on the palate. This predominates the initial attack. The fruit is secondary but smooth and silky. The immediate impression is that the best days of this wine are yet to come, but it is very good now. Maybe I need to secure another one of these to enjoy down the line. |

1/11/2024 - air guitar & pinot noir Likes this wine: 94 pointsOne of the most impressive Pinots from Drew for a long time. Jason consistently makes excellent and diverse Pinots but this one stands above recent efforts. Sandalwood combines with dark fruit to deliver a wonderfully expressive wine. The integration of fruit and oak is impressive. Savory profile is delightful and unique. Glad I have another one of these to enjoy a little farther down the road. |

1/13/2024 - william updyke wrote: 92 pointsRed fruit on the nose with a hint of dry underbrush. Palate has juicy red fruit of light raspberry and slight cranberry that pushes earth and turns tart with light grip. Had it with a pork chop with S&P and it needs a slightly tart red fruit meat reduction sauce with a few mushrooms thrown in. Very good. Not sure if more time is needed but at 7+ years in the bottle it is very close to what it was meant to be. |

1/7/2024 - loj Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is very elegant and there is a good deal of complexity here. This is dark and brooding, with some forrest floor, wet rocks, dried herb. The cherry is certainly there but gives way to these other qualities already. |
